The New Shougang High end Industry Comprehensive Service Area (referred to as Shougang Park) is located at the intersection of Chang'an Avenue West Extension and Yongding River Green Ecological Corridor, covering an area of 8.63 square kilometers. It has unique advantages in geographical location, spatial resources, historical culture, and ecological environment. In the new version of Beijing's urban master plan, the New Shougang area will become a demonstration zone for traditional industrial green transformation and upgrading, an innovation highland for high-end industries in western Beijing, and a post industrial cultural and sports creative base in the future.

The Shougang Industrial Park has convenient transportation, with Lianshi Road and Fushi Road on both sides of the park connecting to the Fifth and Sixth Ring Roads and the Beijing urban expressway system. Beijing's first maglev S1 line passes through the northern part of the park. On September 29, 2019, the New Shougang Bridge was opened, and the west extension of Chang'an Avenue passed through the park, making the connection between the central urban area and the western ecological conservation area even closer. On December 31, 2021, the western section of Metro Line 11 (Winter Olympics Branch Line) was put into trial operation, with direct access to the Shougang Ski Jumping Platform within walking distance from Beixin'an Station and Xinshougang Station.

In November 2017, the detailed planning of the North District of the New Shougang High end Industry Comprehensive Service Zone (Shougang Park North District) was officially approved by the Beijing Municipal Planning and Land Resources Management Commission. The planning achievements have reached the international advanced level and won the International Excellent Planning Award, Green Building Pioneer Award, China Human Settlements Environment Award, National Excellent Urban and Rural Planning and Design Award (Urban Planning) First Prize, International Urban and Regional Planning Excellence Award 2018, and Environmental Protection Building Award Research and Planning Category Excellence Award 2019. In 2020, the Control Detailed Plan (Block Level) for the South District of the New Shougang High end Industry Comprehensive Service Zone was approved.

Shougang Industrial Park has been included in the first batch of national pilot projects for the transformation of old industrial areas in urban areas, comprehensive reform of the national service industry, national sustainable development experimental zone, Zhongguancun national independent innovation demonstration zone, national smart city pilot, and Beijing green ecological demonstration zone. It is the first C40 positive climate model area in China. The official entry of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2016 Winter Olympics was a milestone event in the development of Shougang Park. Over the past six years, the Olympic project has broken through urban renewal, seized the opportunity of the Winter Olympics, focused on "cultural revival, industrial revival, ecological revival, and vitality revival", and promoted the comprehensive completion of the "Three Year Action Plan" in the new Shougang area. The infrastructure carrying capacity and environmental quality have significantly improved, high-end elements have accelerated their aggregation, innovation vitality has been initially released, and the construction of new landmarks for urban revitalization has achieved phased results. The social response has been positive, and the Shougang Park has become a classic case of Olympic sports driving urban renewal worldwide.

In terms of spatial construction, the Shougang Park project has started large-scale construction and completed acceptance. The Winter Olympics Square, Industrial Heritage Park, and Shijingshan Cultural Landscape Area will all be completed before the Winter Olympics, and the characteristic landscape system of mountains, water, Winter Olympics, and industrial relics will be basically formed. A number of Olympic venues, including the Shougang Ski Jumping Platform, Shougang Park National Winter Sports Training Center, and the Four Centers (MOC, TOC, OTC, EOC), have been built and put into use. The Beijing Winter Olympic Park was successfully unveiled. A new exhibition hall covering 94000 square meters has been added to the green axis area of the industrial site. The oxygen plant, Liugonghui, and Jin'anqiao areas have been completed as a whole. The Shangri La Hotel in Shougang Park, Beijing has opened for business. The "two stations and one section" meet the conditions for subway travel. Roads, landscapes, greenery, and other facilities are all equipped to provide service guarantees for major events and showcase the image of Shougang.

In terms of investment and operation, we have connected with enterprises and institutions, followed up on key projects, and have achieved the signing and implementation of projects such as the popular Qitian, Tencent Technology, Yatai Wenrong, and McDonald's flagship store. The pre-sale permit for the lunar exploration project has been processed and the letter of intent and pre-sale agreement have been signed. The cooperation memorandum for the Huaxia Bank project has been signed, and the cooperation framework agreement and strategic cooperation agreement for the Yihe project have been signed. The 1609 block regulatory approval has been obtained. Surrounding technology+and sports+, Tencent Content Business Group, Baidu Intelligent Driving, Winter Olympics Cloud Broadcasting Company, Lunar Exploration Engineering R&D and International Exchange Center have settled in. Shougang Park Shangri La, Xiuchi Hotel, Gongshe Hotel, Shougang Extreme Park, National Reading, Re Rui International Memory Museum, Dacang Art Museum, Starbucks, Xiang Beer Factory, Su Xiaoya, Cha Ganger, Shougang Canteen and other attractions showcase the charm and vitality of the park. The Three Blast Furnace area has successfully hosted over 200 events, including the China Science Fiction Conference, Mercedes Benz Auto Launch, Beijing Fashion Week, BTV New Year's Eve Gala, 2021 Olympic Expo, and Beijing Consumer Season Launch Ceremony. The brand influence of the Shougang Park Global Launch Center continues to increase.

In terms of industrial ecology, we will continue to promote the docking of major cooperation projects and have been awarded the titles of municipal cultural industry park, Beijing sports industry demonstration base, intelligent connected vehicle demonstration operation area, Zhongguancun intelligent innovation application industrial park, Beijing e-sports industry brand center, Beijing gaming innovation experience area, and science fiction industry gathering area. Accelerate the construction of science fiction industry clusters and metaverse innovation centers, form a "science fiction industry consortium", and jointly establish the "Zhongguancun Science Fiction Industry Innovation Center". With the technology driven Winter Olympics as the driving force, we will carry out 23 demonstration scenarios related to artificial intelligence in 7 categories, test and operate 9 types of unmanned vehicles in the park, with a total testing mileage of 150000 kilometers. Autonomous driving has achieved the first open operation in the Shougang Park in China.

In September 2021, the special exhibition of China International Fair for Trade in Services was successfully held in Shougang Park, fully reflecting Beijing's continuous support for the transformation and development of the new Shougang region, and injecting new vitality and momentum into the western Beijing region during the 14th Five Year Plan period. The introduction of the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) is a new important symbol of the revitalization of traditional industrial areas through urban renewal and functional reconstruction. In February 2022, Shougang Ski Jumping Platform took on the freestyle skiing and snowboarding events at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. Chinese athletes Gu Ailing and Su Yiming won two gold medals, and Shougang Park became a "double gold paradise" for the Chinese team and a world-renowned internet celebrity. During the 2022 National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, General Secretary Xi Jinping expressed, "The Beijing Winter Olympics is very powerful, and there are many aspects that need to be recorded in history. The twin Olympic cities are unique. I think there are still voices saying that Shougang's ski jumping platform is being used at a nuclear power plant. They just don't know that this is a green transformation. We are transforming the steel industry into a sports industry

New Shougang was born and prospered due to the Summer Olympics and Winter Olympics. The century old Shougang seized the opportunity of the Olympics to achieve a magnificent transformation, and the new era has given it a new mission. New Shougang has never been filled with vitality, confidence, and passion like it is today. The Shougang Park will plan for the post Winter Olympics, accelerate the rebirth of the phoenix, create a vibrant space and development hotspot for the future, young people, and internationalization, and become a new landmark for urban revitalization of "moving towards the future together". It will showcase a new image and new achievements in the development of the capital in the new era.
