The Gansu International Convention and Exhibition Center is located in the central area of the Yellow River Bund in Lanzhou City. It is a key project of Gansu Province in 2007, and has received high attention from the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial Government, Municipal Party Committee, and Municipal Government since its inception, as well as strong attention from citizens. The project includes three parts: an exhibition center, a grand theater and conference center, and a five-star hotel. The exhibition center is a comprehensive exhibition venue that mainly meets the needs of the "Lan Fair", "Township Fair", and other international and domestic comprehensive exhibitions of the same scale, while also taking into account other large, medium, and small-scale professional exhibitions. The main function of the Grand Theater is to meet the needs of large-scale song and dance performances, as well as music, drama and other performances both inside and outside the province. After the completion of the Diantou International Convention and Exhibition Center project, it will become a landmark building that drives regional economic development along the Yellow River Bund.

The planned supporting area of Gansu International Convention and Exhibition Center covers an area of 38.01 hectares, approximately 571 acres, with a total planned and designed construction area of approximately 1 million square meters. The project is located in the northeast of Lanzhou City, on the north side of Binhe North Road. It faces the Gansu Convention and Exhibition Center complex, the People's Congress office building, and the International Solar Center across the road to the south, Yanchang Road to the north, Yantan Yellow River Bridge to the east, and the European Sunshine City residential area to the west.

The total estimated investment for the project is approximately 5 billion RMB. In the overall layout of the supporting area buildings, the central business district is located in the middle, with residential areas on both sides. The planned total number of households is 5171, the total population is 16547, and the total parking space is 3020. The planned plot ratio is 3.5, the green space ratio is 35%, and the building density is 25%.

The planning and functional positioning of the exhibition supporting area includes three parts: large-scale commercial and service areas, scientific research and office areas, and residential areas. The office and scientific research space covers 200000 square meters, accounting for 20% of the total area; Commercial space of 200000 square meters, accounting for 20% of the total area; 50000 square meters of public facilities, accounting for 5% of the total area; Residential buildings cover 550000 square meters, accounting for 55% of the total area.
Exhibition Hall Scale
Exhibition Center: With a construction area of 64000 square meters (44000 square meters above ground and 20000 square meters underground) and a building height of 30.2 meters (the first underground floor is a parking garage; the first and second above ground floors are exhibition halls, each with 4 exhibition halls), it is the only modern exhibition venue in Gansu Province, with 1200 international standard booths, 10000 square meters of outdoor exhibition space, and more than 1000 parking spaces.

The exhibition hall is equipped with functional rooms such as VIP reception room, negotiation room, business center, convenience store, medical room, exhibition room, etc. There are a total of 18 evacuation staircases, 4 freight elevators, 3 passenger elevators, and 8 escalators in the exhibition hall. A lifting device with a length of 9 meters, a width of 6 meters, a lifting height of 9 meters, and a load capacity of 3 tons, as well as an outdoor staircase, are installed on the west side of the building. There is a bathroom located between each adjacent exhibition hall.
