湖南国际会展中心场馆占地约20万平方米，场馆总建筑面积11.4万平方米。展馆室内展览面积近5万平方米，室外展览面积近6万平方米，展区设计先进、规模宏大、布局合理，可设国际标准展位2,000个，可同时按分区举办500—1,000个展位的展览三个，并可根据需要分隔大小各异的多样展区。展馆一层有近5,000平方米的礼仪大厅，适合举办各类会展活动开幕式、闭幕式。展馆二层使用面积18,000平方米、是能容纳近15,000名观众的大型室内文化广场，能满足不同舞台设计要求的多种类型的演唱会、文艺晚会、节庆活动等，是目前国内最大的多功能演播厅之一。二层场馆净高达18米，基本满足篮球、排球、羽毛球、乒乓球等球类运动的一般比赛。
国际会议区拥有18人到500人不同规格的会议室25间，适合举行各种会议、商贸洽谈、新闻发布会、记者招待会及会见仪式等。展馆配套有新闻发布中心、商务中心、中西餐厅和贵宾休息厅等。展馆室外广场近拥有泊车位1,200多个。
