The Beijing International Convention Center was established in August 1988 to provide news center services for the 11th Asian Games. It is a major member unit of Beijing Beichen Industrial Co., Ltd. The conference center is located on North Fourth Ring Road in the urban area of Beijing, situated within the Asian Games Village, adjacent to the expressway, with a superior geographical location and developed transportation. The main building covers an area of about two hectares, with a total construction area of 68802.54 square meters. It is currently one of the most influential professional exhibition venues in China.

The Beijing International Convention Center began trial operation on May 14, 1990 and officially opened in August 1990. It joined the International Association of Convention Centers (AIPC) on July 5, 1992 and the International Conference and Assembly Association (ICCA) on April 15, 1996. At the end of 1994, the Beijing International Convention Center was awarded the title of "Beijing Tourism Bureau"; Best International Conference Reception Venue "; He was awarded the title and joined the Beijing Tourism Industry Association with a five-star rating.

Since the 14th Mining Congress in May 1900, the conference center has hosted nearly 4000 large-scale conferences, exhibitions, and major events. Millions of people from all walks of life and overseas guests have visited this place. In September 1990, as the news center of the 11th Asian Games, the conference center provided high-quality services for journalists and athletes from various countries, and won widespread praise from domestic and foreign guests with first-class software and hardware, becoming well-known both at home and abroad. The Fourth World Conference on Women of the United Nations, Far South Conference, 19th World Insect Congress, 22nd Postal Union Congress, World University Games, 66th International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Congress, and 2nd Member States Conference of the Global Environment Facility, all of which have international influence, were successfully held at the Beijing International Convention Center.

After more than a decade of operation, the Beijing International Convention Center has cultivated a large number of high-quality management talents and established an advanced service system. It has been invited multiple times to introduce its experience to other exhibition peers. The status of Beijing as an economic and cultural center and its successful bid for the Olympics have created vast development space for the international conference center, and the convening of various international conferences has also driven the city's economic development in tourism, transportation, communication, catering, and other aspects.
Exhibition Hall Scale
　　雄踞于亚运村内的北京国际会议中心总建筑面积77,000平方米，是目前中国举办各种类型的国际国内会议、展览、文化交流、商贸活动、办公及旅游观光的最理想场所。

　　会议大厦是北京国际会议中心的主体建筑，建筑面积52,600平方米，是目前北京唯一的专为会议、展览而设计建造的设施，设有高雅舒适、功能各异、设备齐全的大小会议厅60余个及数十套写字间。其中主会议厅的容量达到，500座位，装有八种语言同声传译、投影电视、电影机、立体音响等设备；小型阶梯报告厅有并170座装有立体声音响、投影电视等设备；高级会议厅48座，还带有表决功能的即席发言系统。

　　展览大厅总面积为5,000平方米，它既可以配合会议举办专题展览，又可单独承办各种类型的展览会、博览会、展销会、艺术展等。宽敞的大堂可作为各种学术会议论文的展示空间。会议大厦内设有影视中心、商务中心、电子速印中心、彩扩中心，可提供理想、完善和全面的服务。宽敞的代表注册大厅、公共休息厅、贵宾休息室、楼层酒巴等为会议组织与参加创造了良好的工作和休息条件。

　　北京国际会议中心以承办接待国际、国内会议展览、大型活动和出租写字间为主要经营项目，并配套提供餐饮、酒吧、影视、商务办公、信息咨询、票务、旅游、邮政服务，以及娱乐、餐饮、商用设施的出租、出售。

　　北京国际会议中心主体建筑分为地上八层，地下二层，可提供从容纳10余人到2500人的大小会议厅室50多个。其中贵宾洽谈室10个，多功能型会议厅8个。大中型会场均配有世界一流的进口设备，有6-10种语言的同声传译设备7套，4000个接收机，即席投票发言系统5套，大型投影电视设备6套，音响设备18套，2套多声道立体声宽银幕电影放映设备，以及不同型号的高亮度幻灯机和投影仪，此外设有4-6个讯道的电视转播系统、国际水平的录音系统、卫星电视接收系统、宽带多媒体网络、视频会议系统等，可满足多种不同规格会议的需要。

　　会议中心目前有三个专门的展览厅，加上宽敞的大堂空间，总计可用展览面积达九千余平方米，可布设国际标准展位近500个。整个展区既可相对独立使用，又可连通一体，灵活方便，并具备足够的人流与物流的运输能力。展览大厅既可配合会议举办专题展览，又可单独承办各种类型的展览会、展销会、艺术展等。除此以外，还可提供出租展架、展具、搭建展位、特装设计等配套业务。

　　主会议厅，拥有多项功能的会场设施，最大容量为2300个座位。配有一流的音响设备，包括普通磁带录音和数字录音。装有红外接收功能的10种语言同声传译、高亮度多媒体投影、专业电影放映机、舞台演出灯光等设备。

　　中型会议厅，拥有596个座位沙发式座椅，可转动的写字板。装有6种语言同声传译、大屏幕电视发射接受器、高亮度多媒体投影、专业电影放映机、立体声音响等设备。墙壁具有吸音效果，客人位于房间的各个角落都可清晰的听到声音。

　　高级会议厅，48个固定座位，150平方米，装有6种语言同声传译设备，备有表决功能的即席发言系统，一个贵宾室和一个谈判室。
