The National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) is a large-scale exhibition complex project jointly decided by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government in 2011, with a total investment of about 16 billion yuan. It is invested, constructed and operated by the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

The total construction area of the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) exceeds 1.5 million square meters. It integrates various formats such as exhibitions, conferences, events, commercial, office, and hotels, and is currently the largest exhibition complex in the world. The main building is designed in the shape of a four leaf lucky grass that stretches and softens, adopting a symmetrical axis design concept. The design incorporates many Chinese elements and is one of the iconic buildings in Shanghai. In 2020, it was awarded the National Green Building Operation Samsung Mark Certification, achieving dual certification of design and operation Samsung, becoming the first large-scale exhibition type three-star green building in China, and also the largest green building in China in terms of volume.

The National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) is located in the core hinterland of the Yangtze River Delta, in the western part of the core area of Shanghai Hongqiao Business District, with a straight-line distance of only 1.5 kilometers from the Hongqiao transportation hub. It is closely connected to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station and Hongqiao Airport through aerial corridors, underground passages, and Metro Line 2. The surrounding highway network is well connected, and it takes 1 to 2 hours to reach major cities in the Yangtze River Delta, and 2 to 3 hours by air to reach major economic cities in the Asia Pacific region.

With a breakthrough design and perfect functions, the National Convention and Exhibition Center, based on the Yangtze River Delta, serves the whole China and the world, and makes every effort to serve the preparation of the China International Import Expo, striving to become an important platform for serving the basic national policy of opening up and the the Belt and Road cooperation initiative, serving the development of national business and serving the construction of Shanghai as the international convention and exhibition capital.
