The Qingdao World Expo City is located in the core coastal area of the central dynamic zone on the west coast of Qingdao. Built along the mountains and facing the sea and wind, it was ingeniously created by the central enterprise China Railway Group with an investment of 50 billion yuan. It covers an area of more than 3000 acres and is a large-scale complex integrating exhibition halls, conference centers, exhibition hotels, exhibition offices, exhibition businesses, exhibition real estate, and exhibition leisure. The project started construction in August 2016 and is expected to be completed and put into operation by June 2018, including the exhibition hall, conference center, hotel, and exhibition office. After completion, the project will be the largest and most well-equipped composite exhibition city in Northeast Asia.
The total construction area of the Qingdao World Expo City Exhibition Hall is 200000 square meters, which can accommodate 6156 international standard booths. The venue consists of 12 rectangular exhibition halls, with a net area of 10000 square meters per hall, a net height of 12.5 meters, a ground load capacity of 3-5 tons, and a single hall power supply of 3000 KW. The center of the exhibition hall is separated by a cross shaped gallery, which is 500 meters long from east to west, 45 meters wide from east to west, 350 meters long from north to south, 35 meters wide from north to south, and has a net area of 40000 square meters. The logistics channel around the museum is 23 meters wide, and all freight gates are over 7 meters high and wide, meeting the direct unloading requirements of various ultra wide and ultra large trucks entering the museum. Next to the exhibition hall, there is also an international conference center with a building area of 132000 square meters tailored for the East Asian Ocean Cooperation Platform. After being put into use, the conference center will become the permanent venue for the East Asia Ocean Cooperation Platform Forum. Among them, there are 21 conference rooms of various sizes, with the largest meeting room covering 3000 square meters, a multifunctional hall covering 6000 square meters, over 300 five-star hotel rooms, and 20000 square meters for exhibition office and parking. All conference rooms are equipped with world-class audio-visual and multimedia facilities, which can meet the needs of hosting high-end international and domestic conferences such as the G20 Summit and APEC. The project is equipped with over 6000 exhibition and comprehensive parking spaces.
Next to the exhibition hall and conference center is the Asia Mansion, a hotel style apartment cluster tailored for international conferences and exhibitions. It is built to high standards and professionally managed to meet the accommodation needs of a large number of business people for future exhibitions and conferences. The project chief engineer will provide 300 five-star exhibition hotels and 5000 quasi four-star and five-star hotels. The Asia Mansion is equipped with street side commercial facilities, creating a modern and fashionable commercial district, providing a natural and comfortable consumption environment and diversified social and entertainment venues for future exhibitors. In order to better develop the exhibition economy and serve the exhibition industry, the World Expo City will also build a cultural and artistic exchange center, a high-speed rail research and development center, a coastal vacation shopping center, a coastal forest park sports center, a theme themed district, etc. around the exhibition and conference center, to meet the leisure, entertainment, vacation and residential needs of the exhibition and business people.

The transportation around Qingdao World Expo City is convenient and the environment is beautiful. In terms of transportation advantages, Qingdao World Expo City is adjacent to Binhai Avenue, the main transportation artery on the west coast, to the east, and Sansha Road, the national defense artery, to the west. Both roads are two-way eight lane roads, forming a convenient transportation network with the surrounding four vertical and five horizontal nine main roads. The upcoming opening of Metro Line 13 this year has set up a Qingdao World Expo City station 550 meters away from the project. In addition, the Qingdao West Railway Station, which is 12 kilometers away from the project, will be put into operation this year. By then, the high-speed rail will take 3.5 hours to Shanghai and 4 hours to Beijing. The Jiaodong New Airport was put into operation in 2019, and it takes 1 hour by car from the airport to the project.
From the perspective of the environmental advantages of Qingdao World Expo City, to the south of the project is the national 4A level scenic area - Dazhu Mountain Scenic Area. The area integrates clear water, green mountains, and peculiar stones, and the 10000 acre natural rhododendron sea is truly spectacular. To the east of the project is Lingshan Island, the tallest island in northern China on the sea screen. In addition, Qingdao World Expo City boasts an ecological green lung - a 10000 acre forest ecological park, which is the largest coastal forest ecological park in China. It is worth mentioning that the Wanmu Forest Ecological Park is currently being developed into the West Coast Central Park, which will become the core park of the West Coast after completion. Its scale and design are comparable to New York Central Park! Leaving the forest park and arriving at the seaside, there is a charming golden coastline stretching 282 kilometers along the west coast, which occupies the last clean sea area in Qingdao. There are also several scenic spots such as the Navy Theme Park, Dazhu Mountain, Xiaozhu Mountain, and Zangma Mountain in the surrounding area. In the future, this will not only be a prosperous place for China's marine economy and culture, but also a fertile ground for business exchanges and cultural life!
