The National Agricultural Exhibition Center and the China Agricultural Museum are two separate institutions under the direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China. The National Agricultural Exhibition Hall is one of the top ten buildings in the capital approved by the State Council in 1958. Its geographical location, scale, layout, and style were all personally approved by Premier Zhou Enlai. It was officially completed and opened to the public in September 1959. The China Agricultural Museum is a national level professional museum established in July 1983 with the approval of the State Council, based on the National Agricultural Exhibition Hall. It was officially opened to the public in September 1986 and was rated as a national first-class museum in 2012.

 

The National Agricultural Exhibition Center (China Agricultural Museum) is responsible for promoting the policies of the Party and the state on agriculture, rural areas, and farmers, showcasing the achievements of modern agricultural development, facilitating the circulation and promotion of agricultural products, popularizing agricultural knowledge, protecting, inheriting, and promoting Chinese agricultural civilization. The National Agricultural Exhibition Hall (China Agricultural Museum) covers an area of 43 hectares, with an indoor exhibition area of 21000 square meters and an outdoor exhibition area of about 40000 square meters. The exhibition facilities such as conference rooms and hotels are well-equipped to meet the needs of various types of exhibitions and public collective activities. The indoor display area of the China Agricultural Museum is 6600 square meters, including six basic indoor displays such as "Exhibition of Chinese Agricultural Civilization"; The outdoor exhibition garden consists of two parts: the ancient traditional agricultural garden and the modern scientific agricultural garden, with an area of about 10000 square meters. Has successively won honorary titles such as National Patriotic Education Base, National Youth Science and Technology Education Base, Beijing Science Popularization Education Base, and International Science and Peace Education Base.
