In 2024, the total output of aquatic products in China reached 73.5759 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.39%. The overall fishery economy maintained stable development, and the supply capacity of aquatic products continued to improve.

As an important fishing province in China, Guangdong has a complete system of aquaculture, processing, distribution, and consumption industries. In 2024, the total output of aquatic products in the province reached 9.6637 million tons, and many major indicators such as total output of aquatic products, fishery output value, and aquaculture output ranked among the top in the country. Among them, the production of marine aquaculture reached 3.7683 million tons, with a growth rate reaching a new high since 2011. The construction of modern marine pastures and "blue granaries" continues to advance.

Relying on the strong foundation of Guangdong's fishery industry and the huge consumer market in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, the 12th Guangzhou International Fisheries Expo will be held from September 10 to 12, 2026 at the China Import and Export Fair Exhibition Hall in Guangzhou. The exhibition continues the positioning of "Fishing Gathering Guangzhou Business Connect the World", with an expected exhibition area of 50000 square meters, gathering more than 650 domestic and foreign enterprises to participate. It is expected to attract more than 45000 professional visitors, as well as buyers and professional procurement groups from multiple countries and regions to attend and exchange ideas.

The exhibition will focus on the industrial chain links of aquatic products, aquaculture, modern marine ranching, aquatic feed and animal protection, aquatic product processing, pre made vegetables, cold chain logistics, and related equipment technology.
